Down South Grass And Lawn Care started with a love for the outdoors and pride in a job well done. Growing up in the South, I learned early on how much a well-kept lawn says about a home and how good it feels to come home to one. I started helping neighbors, then friends of friends, and before I knew it, I had a full book of clients. That’s when I realized there was more to this than just cutting grass, it was about building trust, helping people take pride in their property, and turning a chore into something beautiful. That’s why I started Down South Grass and Lawn Care: to bring that same care and attention to every yard we touch.

What I love most is the sense of family and pride people have here in Hemingway. Hemingway isn’t just a place it’s home. Everyone looks out for each other, and that motivates us to give our best every single day. Whether we’re mowing a lawn, trimming hedges, or just waving to a neighbor from the truck, it feels good to know we’re making a difference in the place we live and love.

One time, we had an elderly customer who had just come home from the hospital. Her yard had gotten out of control tall grass, overgrown bushes, limbs everywhere. Her daughter called us in a panic, just hoping we could squeeze her in by the end of the week. Instead, we came out that same afternoon. We trimmed everything, cleaned up the yard, even brought in fresh pine straw. When she came outside and saw it, she actually teared up. She told us it was the first time she’d smiled in days. That moment reminded us why we do this it’s more than lawn care. It’s about helping people feel at peace in their own homes
